Why did I join OLAS? OLAS gives me an opportunity to connect with others who share similar interests as I do. At the same time I am able to share my views about my culture and create awareness that will break away with myths to allow constructive dialogue our community.

Why did I join OLAS? At the Activities Fair Mel called out to me to join. When I claimed I was not Latin American, she scoffed and said anyone could join. I balked at this answer and signed up to OLAS. A more formal answer: To further assist the Latin community within Davidson be recognized by the general student population.

Why did I join OLAS? I’ve taken Spanish language classes for years, but have never been exposed to Latin American cultures that much. I think OLAS is a great opportunity to learn more about the cultures of Latin American countries
